This year's Christmas gift goes to Engineers Without Borders in Sweden and Norway

This year we have selected two projects for our Christmas gift. In Norway we support the Waste for Warmth initiative, and in Sweden we support the work to improve educational opportunities for millions of children.

In Sweden

Children's right to education is unfortunately not a given fact and the pandemic has significantly affected physical learning opportunities in many parts of the world. UNICEF estimates that school children worldwide have lost over 1.8 trillion hours of physical education opportunities due to the pandemic.

We believe that education is the foundation to sustainable society. That's why we want to contribute to projects led by Engineers Without Borders that aim to improve access to education for children in developing countries.

In Norway

Several million refugees live in refugee camps in the Middle East. In Turkey alone there are 3.6 million Syrian refugees and most of them have no shelter from the winter.

In the Waste for Warmth project, Engineers Without Borders is working with local partners to develop a method of winter-insulating tents with an insulation material made from recycled plastic. The recycling will be done locally and will also generate employment.
